Logitech Master MX 3 Mouse Review May 2021

Logitech Master MX 3 Mouse is still a high-performance mouse and creative works. In fact, it does better – inheriting the good qualities of its predecessor as custom-specific applications and connectivity for multiple devices while also smaller, simpler, simpler, and backed up in some way.

Short Review

Logitech has also done the Logitech Master MX 3 Mouse. Those familiar with this line know that it makes all other playful mice look like they are doing a bit of nothing, and we are glad to see the latest installment continue that tradition.

This time around, however, made the necessary tweaks. Logitech Master MX 3 is simple, compact, and simple; with better transmission wheels and improved connectivity. Make the previous one, the Logitech MX Master 2s – a mouse that already impresses itself – looks like a clumsy ogre hulking.

Basically, Logitech took everything amazing with Master 2s and put it in a better pocket while making progress along the way. That makes Logitech MX Master 3 a much better mouse than its predecessor. If you think Master 2s got our much-needed 5-star rating, that means a lot.

Those who do not want to spend more than $ 50 on a big mouse may want to look for alternatives. The MX Master line stays at its $ 99 / £ 99 price – unless you are in Australia, then Logitech MX Master 3 comes to $ 20 more than Master 2 at $ 169.

“Best Selling Mouse”

If you are sad about the price, we get it. There are a lot of rats with a little bit of skill out there. In fact, many of our choices in the excellent list of mice are part of the price of Master 3. At the same time, none of them can match its feature set, which in itself is already worth the price.

That’s not to say that those are the only notable features of the Logitech MX Master 3. Its ergonomic design is also worth its time in the light, with a nice bump on the palm rest for extra support and all of its buttons – all eight of them – for easy access to your fingers. The lump here doesn’t say as much as in the Master 2s, sadly, and that’s probably the result of Logitech trying to make it smoother. However, it still provides enough support to avoid fatigue, especially in palm grippers.

The eradication of the rubber and the side grips are even more noticeable to this mouse for better grip, although those unfamiliar with that may find it rare to touch at first.

The best thing to touch here is the developed center and side development wheels. Logitech has given them a refinement with a notched metal construction that offers a very quiet, premium touch. These wheels are so big, in fact, that makes those Master 2s feel cheap and unpretentious.

One of our favorite design improvements here is the placement of side buttons. When Master 2s has them behind the side wheel, with one button on top of the other, Master 3 has them under the steering wheel set aside. This setting makes them more accessible and less confusing to use.

Also, Master 3 is smaller, smoother, and lighter than ever. At 4.92 x 3.32 x 2.01 inches and 4.97 ounces, the difference may not seem too big on paper. However, it is evident during use. We are familiar with Master 2s, as we have been using that as our main work mouse for a few years now. However, we can happily trade that for this new model, as it is much easier on the wrist and hand.

A few good additions are the port and its charging cable. While Master 2s comes with a pesky micro-USB port and cable, this model is upgraded to USB-C, which means faster charging time. It also means you have one small cable to deal with if you already have USB-C cables in the hands of some of your sectors.

Both the battery life and DPI in the Logitech MX Master 3 remain the same for up to 70 days and 4000 DPI respectively, but those are more than enough for mouse users and are much better than what most non-playing mice offer. It uses the same advanced technology that Darkfield has in its sensor, gives it higher performance like Master 2s, and inherits Smartshift technology, which allows it to automatically switch between free spin mode and click mode to click to get the current app or window open.

However, there are two things the MX Master 3 does better than before – browsing and connecting. According to Logitech, the new center wheel is 87% accurate and can scroll up to 1,000 lines per second. It was proven to be a fraction of a second immediately during our test. With the blocking of both mice set to high and Smooth scrolling setting enabled (done in the Logi Options app), it is about 20% faster on average when in free spin.

Depending on the connection, it’s a much more personal experience. We had a problem with MX Master 2s when we shared one dual Bluetooth connection to a new device when it was previously connected to a different device. Basically, we had to remove that contact or reset the mouse. Perhaps thanks to a firmware update, that problem has finally been solved by itself. However, the thing to note here is that this was not a problem with the MX Master 3 outside the box.

At the moment, the third option to connect in the form of a 2.4 GHz high-end USB dongle remains unparalleled and long-distance.

Finally, the distribution of its keys and customization should be mentioned. They are a blessing to many people who use most of their anti-computer work, whether that means doing a lot of research, typing and having several browser tabs open at the same time, or editing a large number of high-resolution photos or videos.

The Logi Options app will allow you to assign actions on all but the left and right buttons, and make those offers straightforward. In Photoshop, for example, you can set the side buttons to change the brightness of the brush or the hardness of the weight while setting the side wheel to zoom in and the action button you can keep. This helps save time and makes the movement of your image much easier, and reduces the strain on your wrist and shoulders as you move slowly.

What’s more, the list of supported apps is wide, which means it’s not just the creative benefits that can be exploited – though sadly, Lightroom is missing out. With apps like Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Chrome, Microsoft Outlook, even Zoom, and Microsoft Teams supported, even office cogs and students will get the most out of this mouse.

Buy it if…

You want an amazingly organized workflow

Due to the customization of the Logitech MX Master 3 program, you can use it to set shortcuts that will enhance, slow down and streamline your workflow, whether you’re editing video and photos or doing a lot of data and word processing.

You need a flexible mouse as it is reliable

Thanks to the wide range of apps that support it, this mouse and its customization have many uses. It also provides connectivity for three devices, which means you can use it on one device and switch to another quickly by pressing a button.

You have a budget

Next to most non-play mice, this is not exactly cheap. However, while it may be more expensive than other methods, its feature set, ergonomics, and versatility are worth the price.

Don’t buy it if…

You just need a point and click on the device

If the Logitech MX Master 3 feature set isn’t something you can’t fully use, you’re probably better off finding an alternative. There is nothing wrong with having a simple mouse if you really need it.

You want something cheap

Budget buyers who can increase their budget may be better off including something more affordable. There are a lot of feature mice out there that are less than half the price.
