MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT Review

While the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT is an excellent graphics card, the higher price tag makes it harder to recommend, and it will be even harder to recommend after the graphics card acquisition has become usual.

Short Review

As the shortage of graphics cards for 2021 continues, cards like the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming X show how bad things are. Because, if all was well, this was a graphics card that would have cost a little over $ 479 (£ 419.99 about $ 620) introduced by the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT.

Instead, due to a combination of fees and supply issues, the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming X sells for $ 789 in the US, which is more than $ 300 more than the AMD card version. And while the MSI version of the GPU is faster than the conventional AMD version, it never offers the highest price of a card.

Out of the box, the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT is 4% faster than the GPU reference version, in the Metro Exodus at 1440p. This gap narrows to only 1 fps in 4K, which works just as well. So, unless you are going to overdo it, there is really no reason to spend extra money on the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT.

MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT Review

Unlike beefier cards in the MSI Gaming X list like the RTX 3080 or RTX 3090, however, the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming X still has two-fan cooling features. MSI has intensified its cooling with a high-fat heatsink, which increases the profile card profile to 2.5 slots, from 2 RX 6700 XT reference spaces. The power supply is also much stronger here, with two 8-pin PCIe connectors, rather than 6 + 8-pin power connectors for the AMD version.

Of course, that means the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT will take up a lot of space on your PC case. The graphics card is 10.98 inches long and 5.15 inches wide, which means some people trying to build a compact PC can get into some trouble. Make sure you rate your PC case so you know if this monster will get in there or not.

This should lead to more power, but better anger is expected here. Two additional power connectors will add a more mobile GPU dynamic room, but it won’t be enough to make a big difference or do that at $ 300.

Completely Cool Core Pipes

Core Pipes are precision-machined for most contact up the GPU and increased the heat forward the full range of the heatsink for optimal cooling.

Fortunately, the graphics card looks really amazing. At the back is a smooth black metal bucket, with the MI Dragon logo. On the other side, the heatsink is highly exposed, with the exception of the fin with the MI symbol on the side. And of course, there’s a lot of RGB light, like all the other Graphics cards in the MI Gaming X. line.

Light will be available both on the MI logo next to the graphics card and on accents between fans in front of the cover. You can control this illumination with MI dragon software, too, which will allow you to interact with your other graphics card settings.

As for ports, you get three DisplayPort and one HDMI 2.1 port, excellent ride cost. We wish there was a USB-C port, especially for people who want to use 12GB of GDDR6 memory for creative workloads like Blender and Adobe Premiere.

Substation production for 1440p

AMD Radeon ™ RX 6700 XT graphics cards deliver powerful 1440p gambling and high frame rates. Get 40 high performance compute units, cracked AMD Infinity Cache, up to 12GB of dedicated GDDR6 memory. Discover new levels of gaming with AMD Smart Access Memory technology as you pair the AMD Radeon ™ RX 6700 XT graphics card with the AMD RyzenTM 5000 Series processor.

But that’s not exactly what this graphics card is for. This is primarily a GPU designed for gambling, which means that it doesn’t matter if it can deliver frames.

We’re looking at 1440p gaming performance, especially since that’s where this graphics card shines. There’s also the big ‘1440p’ logo on the front of the sales box, so that’s where it really needs to deliver.

Fortunately, it brings 1440p game performance to spades. The only games the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT did not deliver better than the 60 fps at 1440p were Red Dead Redemption 2 and Metro Exodus by ray tracking enabled. And, of course, those are very difficult to use, especially in the settings we use to make a token marker.

With the redesign of Red Dead 2, we do all the preparation that is not a sample of opposing combat (Ali). If you want 60 fps with those settings, you’ll want to get RTX 3080 or more – if you can get it.

As for Metro Exodus tracking ray, well, AMD drawing cards are not ready for that kind of work yet. And beefier cooling and slightly improved power delivery will not change the fact that the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT is not the most well-tracked ray card.

Test custom specs

This is the arrangement we did to test the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT
Case: Praxis Wetbench
Power Supply: Corsair AX1000
Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus XIII Hero
CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K (10-core, up to 5.3GHz)
RAM: 64GB Corsair Dominator Platinum @ 3,200MHz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Masterliquid 360P Silver Edition

You can turn on tech, but we wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re on a 1080p panel. Most people still use the 1080p display, however, and in that resolution, the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT is a complete beast.

For games same Dirt 5 also Assassin’s Creed Valhalla at 1080p, the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT can simply hit 120 fps. It moved down a bit in Metro Exodus and Red Dead Redemption 2, but it still makes frames over 60 fps, so you’re a good gold for that decision.

But unfortunately, everything goes back to price. It doesn’t matter how good the card looks or how it works, it does not justify the increase in price, or it is not MI’s fault at all. Right now, we are in a situation where you just have to buy the first drawing card you get in stock, but that situation will not last forever.

And if prices return to normal, the MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT will almost double the price of an AMD card version, and that means we can’t recommend it.

if Buy it

You want strong 1440p performance
The MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT is more than capable of playing all the latest and greatest PC games in 1440p with many settings. If you get a new shiny 1440p monitor, this graphics card will be a great option.

He plays esports games at 1080p
If you have a 1080p refresh monitor, the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT will offer 100+ fps in most games on the market today, not to mention the easy-to-use sports theme like Overwatch and Valorant.

if Don’t buy it

The MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT is expensive. Like, it’s really expensive. MSRP for this version of the 6700 XT is a whopping 64% higher than the standard version of the graphics card. Unless you are the only drawing card you can buy – which at the time of writing – is not for you.

He has very little fault
The graphics cards in this tier tend to look good on PCs in smaller firms, but MSI has gone out of its way to make a cooling solution on offer, which expands its size to a 2.5-slot graphics card that is about 11 inches long.
